Happy Thanksgiving from Preschool
Preschool has been very busy learning about the Native Americans and Pilgrims and how they celebrated the first Thanksgiving. We learned special symbols that were used by the Native Americans and decorated our Thanksgiving outfits with some of them. The afternoon class was visited by their third grade buddies, who were also learning about the Native Americans and were getting ready to go on their class trip to the Pequot museum.
We make harvest necklaces and rain sticks with totem pole images on them. We made up our own rain dance (and it rained the next day)!
Making Beaded Necklaces is great for our pre-writing skills and fine motor skills and....it's super fun and we don't even know that it's good for us or our muscles
We all received special names like those that were given to Native Americans when they were born. We put our special names on our outfits and our head dresses that we made. Have a Happy and Safe Thanksgiving all!
