PTO Fundraising & Events

2009-2010

Magazine Drive

The first fundraiser of the year is the annual Magazine Drive. Each family is required to sell a preset dollar amount of magazines. Prizes are awarded to the children each day that they bring in magazine orders. The sale will start on September 14 and ends September 28. This is a mandatory fundraiser but you can opt out by speaking to Mrs. Broulliard.

Haunted House

The annual Haunted House will be held on October 30th this year! This Friday evening event is fun for the entire family. The younger children come back to school dressed in costumes ready to participate in age appropriate games and if they dare, they may take a tour through the haunted ‘school’ house. This event is put on by the Student Council and parents are always needed to help with games.

Calendar Raffle

Just in time for Thanksgiving we have our Calendar raffle. Each family is given 10 raffle calendars to sell (sell 10 get one free). The names are drawn and cash prizes awarded starting after Christmas and ending in late January. This is a mandatory fundraiser; see Mrs. Broulliard to opt out.

Vendor’s Fair

One of our fundraisers is a Vendor’s Fair to get a jump start on your holiday shopping. If you have a home based business and would like to participate let us know and we will put you in touch with the coordinator of this well attended event. Last year’s fair had the gym filled with vendors, a raffle table and lots of holiday shopping! This year’s event will take place on December 6th during the Breakfast with Santa event.

Santa’s Workshop

December 2-3 we have the Santa’s Workshop for the children. The children are able to shop inexpensive gifts for their family or friends with the help of parent volunteers. This is usually a two day event and the children are so very proud of their purchases. This is not a fundraiser; it is a holiday shopping experience for the children.

Winter Carnival

Another PTO fundraiser is the Winter Carnival. This event was resurrected two years ago and not only did everyone have a great time but it also raised over $2000 for the school.  The carnival is held on the Saturday ending Catholic Schools week. This event has games & prizes, a wheel of WOW, pie throwing (at some good humored teachers), pie eating contest, best chili contest, and plenty of food. The 8th graders help run games and sell tickets. A 50/50 raffle is held with proceeds going to an 8th grade scholarship. This year’s Carnival will be held on February 6th.

Candy Drive

The next PTO fundraiser is the annual Candy Drive. This fundraiser takes place shortly after the first of the year, just in time to sell candy at sporting events and for you to put some away for Valentine’s Day. One case (50 bars) goes home to each family to sell. Extra cases are available and your selling extra cases are greatly appreciated.

Silent Auction

Our Sixth Annual Silent Auction will be held in April. This event features a delicious meal and unique items donated by families and area business. It is a great time for all. You can come for dinner, bid on silent auction items, raise your paddle to bid on live auction items, or take a chance on the classroom gift basket raffle.

TCA Golf Tournament

In its 14th year is the TCA Annual Golf Tournament. This event is held in May each year at Heritage Country Club in Charlton. It is a Florida style shotgun start-string and mulligans can be purchased at the sign in area. It is great fun for every level golfer. A steak or chicken dinner and a small auction follow the round of golf. There is also a raffle table; prizes are drawn during the dinner. Last year’s Tournament was a sell-out so be sure and sign your foursome up early!! The tournament will be held on May 12, 2010.

Teacher Appreciation

The month of May also brings us the Teacher Appreciation Dinner. This family event is held the first Wednesday of May every year. It is a time to honor our devoted and greatly appreciated Teachers. It usually consists of a luncheon and a gift to each teacher.

Field Day

Lastly is the much anticipated Field Day, held in June at Camp Foskett in Charlton. This event is coordinated by our gym teacher. It is a day of fun and games. Each grade competes in age appropriate games, including water games!! The parent volunteers have almost as much fun at the children!!

We would love to see you at these events or on one of the committees!!!
